I think electro is currently in a period of recognition, more artists day by day produce various electro stuff
or maybe better to say music with electro form, and there is a number of good electro releases coming out on various labels that aren't dedicated to electro sound, ofc as well on all other indie or "major" electro labels. As the number of artist increase the whole scene does, more options to pick, different styles of electro to hear, it's like over and over spoken story that isn't written but which continue to spread all around until the moment comes at some point in the future when a specific form, style of electro will be hyped and turned into mainstream.
When it comes to parties, recently i've noticed alot going on in different parts of the world though...

Sound EP is an opening release of Hardisco Records and it represents the primordial soup of music genres in the upcoming releases.
The form and the style cannot be specified, as the whole project is a fusion of different styles of electronic music.
Mixture of strong basslines, dirty funky vocals and vocoders, spacey sequences together with crushed 808, 505 beats is what gives the Sound EP a unique mark in today's' club, dancefloor music.Buy the release on:

Does the Electro scene need a chart?
- Nice to have but not necessary.
Any ideas / concepts / concrete plans?
- Better promotion, internet promotion. Mainly blogs linked with other social networks.
I would consider free give away of 1 or 2 tracks from certain release as best promotion,
who want to buy, he will buy, but without "speading the word" it's pointless to make the hype.
Also parties with mixed up styles, more crowd, and ppl who aren't from electro waters will hear it and at least some % of them will like it and spread the word about it. -

I couldn't care less about releasing on Dominance...and I won't do it again.
See: You get asked to do a remix on Dominance and you think: niiicceeeeee......
You get a deadline because the release is scheduled for February. So you even take some days off from work to meet the deadline.
Then the release gets postponed. No info for months. So you write an e-mail to check what's up. You get a vague release date that of course doesn't happen.
Then you learn from a newsletter that your work will finally come out but exactly on the same date as the album that creates the biggest buzz in the scenen since Street Sound NE 1. Then you get told, that this is a good thing, even if you know better because you are not new in the bizz and run a label for 7 years.
Totop it off you don't even have the mastered version of your own tune.
So why should you be excited?
Take my adviceand release with Ghost Technology. They treat people and their work with respect.
And this is my last post in this thread.
ahahahah
hey! if you are judging promotion and marketing by EE, i'm sorry but you obviously have wrong point of view.
anyway, great remixes
