You stick with playing that minimal drum track then, and I will stick with playing what the fans like best.

    Fine with me

and Indeed put them out yourself and have complete control, If anyone want's a list of Vinyl Pressing plants let me know..

Several Major Distributors in the UK are now offering sub Licence P&D deals.
Best do it that way , at least you will get paid, by the Major Distributors, and Also Vinyl is collectible over the years.

But start small press up a few, and mail them out to all the Magazines, Blogs, and The Radio Shows and Go from there.

...as myspace is a place full of people who only want to get heard its even contraproductive id say. Any shit producer gets motivated to continue or have you ever read comments like "your tunes suck" ?
better start local in the real world before. play gigs if you wanna get heard. connect with other people...and wear only electro tshirts so people recognize you as electro head :D

Myspace is very limiting agreed , you will never get heard this way.... well nowadays only by other producers...

But you need to set your sights about getting your stuff out to labels and promoters... Never pay to have your stuff put on albums ever... there are stories circulating of a label charging for stuff to be released.. unbelievable... and almost fraud.

ELECTRO NATION IS ABOUT TO RELAUCH WITH TWO NEW SHOWS AND A PROPER ARTISTS SPONSORED CHART

ALSO WE ARE Helping on A&Ring For The Biggest Compilation series to Hit ELECTRO FULL STOP!

"ZERO ONE" so let us have your tracks to play , submit to the chart and send to Paul Hardcastle...

Buy me a pint if you get included.!!!!

A lot of people don't get credited on Sugarhill, thats the way it was, Shady people running a shady operation, ulttimately it is why it failed, and similar electro labels all fail.

You can only fuck someone over once!!!! It still goes on in the scene today... I wonder how many current ELECTRO ARTISTS are getting royalties from current Album releases, I bet i can count them on one finger.

Many artists have admitted to me they won't deal with certain labels and companies for fear of being ripped off and even more simply that they will not return any royalties for the small amount of sales there really are. which is a shame.

Duke Booty, didnt get the credit, But hell, Clayton Savage didnt get paid or any credit and he wrote most of the Work PArty Album for Melle Mel and FF after the split with GMF, he has told me the label was well fucked up.

Nothing changes with Electro , That is why many artists got sick of getting ripped of in the late 80's and went over to House or Bass Freestyle music where money could be made from publishing.

Many young kids these days don't even understand what label copy / Royalties are, let alone a publishing deal, and that is why they will continue to get ripped of, and get fed up.

One word of Warning, Never ever pay a label or publishing company upfront for Inclusion on a release or even Advice. If they want to sign you, they will pay you upfront, with a proper Advance and contract of Schedule of royalties.

I DJ'ed with Ian and Colin Faver many times, and knew Ian via my Friends Mark Moore and Eddie Richards.

Ian will be much missed on the scene, A clever DJ and producer, and equally very shy and unassuming, with not a bad word about anyone ever.

You could learn a lot by looking at Ian's career...

He leaves us a legacy of groundbreaking music, especially on BAAD Records and Vinyl Solution (small label from the rave scene run from above the record shop in Ladbroke Grove UK)

Electro fact fans may like to know that Maurice Watson (who mixed some oif the Electro Albums) was A&R manager at Vinyl Solution, back then.

IAN LOVEDAY - Rest in Peace, wherever you are.

try reading the press releases or read their home page. that's probably why you didn't get an answer. they probably don't repsond to people who don't read. ;D

Well said, Or they could listen to any Radio Show, and hear the tracks...

This is fantastic news for all of us. We've talked with EE for many years now about having one chatroom between the two sites. Thank you Matt for making it happen!!
We at GFR will support any show or station that plays the music we all love and wishes to use the chatroom, so please do use it.
    See you in there ;)

Wicked News for the Scene... and all the Artists, Labels, DJ's and Producers, Past and Present and indeed Future... And superb that it has been set up before the Onslaught of all new electro fans :cylon: I can see them coming...

It will also help bring all the Radio Shows closer together, after all different people listen at Different times, and some people listen to all of the output, when do they sleep?? :ugly: maybe never..

But yes Thanks Gordy, Matt, Martin, and Everyone for coming together..

Awesome, The scene needs one Integral Chat Base, Whatever Label, Artist, Radio Station, Forum, We are all one Scene, which as Morph rightly points out has remained strong because of the great unity.. whatever show is on or Event is on, the chat room should welcome new fans, If fans see arguments going down among artists, what will they think of our Scene?

After all, Electro is and always has been about technology old and new to create that clever mix of nu and old all rolled into the unique sounds we love...

If Afrika Bambaataa had not borrowed from Kraftwerk, and used a borrowed jupiter 8 we would not have quite the Electro scene we have, Let alone all the other dance music that came from electro...

Enough Shit... Streetsounds NU ELECTRO 1 is about to Drop, We all need to focus and get behind that...
