Thanks guys - I went for the AKG 240s as they're semi-open. Very pleased! They mimic my speakers pretty well considering they're only £100 cans!

My old M-Audios are dying so I need some new headphones; they'll be primarily used for late-night mixing etc. so need flat, accurate response (although I will always finalise my mix over speakers).
Not looking hi-end (sub-£150), has anyone got any experience with any of these:
KRK KNS 8400;
Beyerdynamic DT770 pro;
Audio Technica ATH-M50;Any other recommendations?

What you want is Nepheton:

And for 909, Drumazon:

Then add your own saturation / distortion / EQ to taste.

G Which DJ's back then played and liked hip hop? Like you? Was it only you who played it AND loved it?
Mastermind?

Utter nonsense to say there was little good Hip Hop before 1984, in fact that is the daftest thing i have heard in a long time to be honest.
But nobody said that.

I'm inclined to agree with him!

Yeah, very sad news.

It's lightweight, mainstream-ish go-go rap.
-
It's dreadful. Unbelievably, you can hear it on the iTunes store if you have access.
-
some of it's house, some of it's freestlye. It was all interchangeable back then.
-
Yeah, I must admit; I'm a bit confused!

And the Mastermind Roadshow is from North London.

My current favourite d&b is an album by Raiden called 'Beton Arme'. It's fantastic:

LiveWire - maybe many acts were in negotiation and pulled out due to being unable to agree fees etc? I'm sure it's actually fairly hard to book acts who, firstly are US based, and secondly may not even be active now?
I understand your disappointment - but it's not like anyone else is flying over old-school hip hop acts from the States to perform in London is it. I'm just glad someone is.

In response to a couple of people on the thread that are interested in an opinion from somebody who was actually there........
Would I go again, yes I would.
Nice one Beatronic (how are you BTW?). I was on holiday so had to miss this unfortunately, but I would definitely have gone if I could. And I reckon I'd have enjoyed myself. Like you, I'd be up for seeing any old-school artist in the UK as it's such a rare treat. Fuck, I'd have paid £30 just to see Captain Rock (who put on a fantastic performance judging by the videos I've seen - all things considered).
From what I've heard from people I know who went, it sounded like a good laugh / get together, and I'm gutted I missed it.
