Hello! This is a general, broad overview type of question. I'm just looking to get a midi controller of some sort but dunno what to go for.
I play keyboard so I figure that makes sense but I'm inclined to get a big keyboard so I can actually play it? But then comes the issue of portability...
I just wanted to get a general idea on what your likes/dislikes are from your experience. Is small good or limiting?
Any tips, suggestions appreciated.
Does it help to be able to tap things? It does look like fun...
I guess it's one of those things to try and get one that suits your needs.

I was trained in classical piano since a really young age... When I got older I tried to 'learn' jazz piano by getting a book but to no avail!
I think Rob's advice of getting a good tutor is the best way really.
There's this thing called the Suzuki method which a lot of people use to start kids of really young and they are volumes of books that get progressivly harder. I was not trained on it but I think they are very basic.
Are you looking to learn classical or jazz because they are really really different!
