Formula 409 is a household cleaner. And, yes, I did clean my kicks with 409. BTW, I agree, Rhyme Pays is Ice T's best album but not his best material IMO.

This is a rare record. It is ok, but in my opinion, it kinda sucks. The beats are standard electro for the year but the raps...uugh. Again, just MY opinion.

I went back and listened to this record and I forgot how killer it is. What are your thoughts...

I was always partial to Everlastin' Bass/Evon is On 12". I would also throw These Are My Beats w/Egyptian Lover in as well. Joe Cooley can shred the turntables for sure.

John Carpenter masterpiece. Now that you mention the Bambaataa thing, I will need to go watch the movie. Since you brought that up, it would be an interesting thread to see what movies have electro/rap songs in them from the 80's or the movies that the samples are from.

Here are two more great pure "electro" records:
1. John Davis & Too Much - Destination Earth (definate funk hook
to this record)
Label: Metrovynil Records 19842. Future MC's - We Are The Future(it only has 5 tracks)
Label: Flash Records 1984 -
What are your thoughts on this electro/rap classic 12" from 1988.

Also, this may not be true "electro" (sort of like WCWC), but you could also throw in L.A. Dream Team "Kings Of The West Coast" and West Coast Crew "In The Mix".
-
Two Sisters "Two Sisters" is a really great electro full length LP imo. Also who can forget Mantronix "The Album". Essential electro/rap all-time classic.
-
the DJSing stuff was pretty dam good. Especially "Freak Girl".

So, what do we think of this electro/rap cut from 1985? I like it. I wouldn't call it a dope jam but definately was up there as a killer electro cut. Good one to break to IMO.

I went with "Big Beat". Great jam for sure but the list to vote from was tough.

Terminator is an electro/rap classic for me.

Nothing more disapointing than a horrible follow up. Dynamic Breakers "Kim" rates as one of my all time worst follow ups. "Dynamic" is a absolute perfect electro/rap record. A remix of that tune would be dope Cozmo.

Nope, but I did come across a copy of the Boo Da Bliss Cew from 1983. Dougie's first appearance on wax I believe.
