I would definitely say the scratches on "He's Bionic" sound sampled for sure. They are just way to perfect to be by Dre's hands. It has no organic feel to it. I do wonder why they did that instead of actually doing scratches? As for Mantronix, I will have to listen and get back to ya'll.

Thanx for the info. I would love to get the instr. version of Gigalo if possible only because I am anal retentive about having the complete track listing. Being obsesive compulsive is a bitch sometimes. Thank god for therapy. ;D

I came across this via a friend and I can not find any info on this rap group. I think it came out around 1988? Anybody got any info on them
like label info, track listing and year of release. The tracks I have are (as they were listed):

    1. Gigalo
    2. It's Over
    3. Lords Of Rock

    Thanx guys.

I'm broke BIATCH!!! Really, I can't afford much these days and NO FRIGGIN way I would pay some of the exuberant prices some of these records are fetching. Not to mention the sellers are probably finding it hard to get people to bid as high as they would like. It's buyers market if you got the extra dough!

DAM!!! Finally some new electro with an old school sound and feel. If you haven't heard this, get it NOW. This isn't miami bass influence like a lot of the newer stuff I have been hearing lately. This is Egyptian Lover style 80's electro/rap. Killer bass lines and dam sick vocoders. Lead vocals by Egyptain Lover himself. My hats off to Egypt. Why can't some of the newer artists take a hint from shit like this? This and Professor X's "Statix" are my current new electro fav's. Your thoughts?

I see alot of stuff here but I am looking for recommendations to newer electro/funk artists that have an old school feel to them. Either incorporating scratching, vocoders, etc... Thanx for any help. I have been starting to broaden my tastes a little but since I haven't been listening to ANY newer electronic music I am a little out of the loop. I am NOT into house or techno tho. Straight up electro/funk. I patiently wait... ???

my current fav's at the moment:

    in no order:

    1. M.S.J. - "Money" 12"
    2. M.C. Player "Dance (The Mega-Diss)" 12"
    3. M.C. Chief ft. Sexy Lady - "Beef Box" 12"
    4. Chill-C - "My Trunk Is Boomin'" 12"
    5. Condition Red - "Get Loose" 12"

Great scene!!! Paul Verhoven is a genius. BTW, Sleeze Boys "Robo Cop" is BOMB!!!

Played this the other day. Great music with a killer vocoder. Nice jam for 1983. Your thoughts?

I listened to this the other day and forgot how dam good this record is, for 1989 that is. Sadly, when electro was pretty much dead IMO. Your thoughts on this record? :)

So, what is your thoughts on this west coast pioneer? I have always enjoyed his older "electro" influenced records. Although, some of his 90's stuff was lame, there is some nice bumpin' jams. I really dig "Ride". A killer "electro" influenced, up-tempo Mix-A-Lot gem. Discuss...
