Returning once again to Intellegenix after some time away, Cryogenetic comes back with the single "Othacide", featuring keyboard work by his studio partner Castelvi. Slowing things down to 110 bpm, Cryogenetic draws inspiration from early Detroit and German electronic music pioneers while blending elements of his own distinct style. Utilizing pre-midi analog gear including a Farfisa vip 500 organ, Yamaha SK-20 synthesizer and of course an 808, he maintains his old school appeal while also taking his sound into the future. Spacey pitched vocals layered on top of a driving 808 beat and vintage synths combine together to bring us to the "Othacide".

i actually found a program for mac that is quite usefull... it does cost about 40$ u.s. for the full version but its worth it if u need to do lossless audio editing....
does any one know of a program for mac to split a long song into 2 tracks with out re-encoding? i know these edits can be made on ableton ect. but i prefer if the song is not re-encoded... this is a program for pc but i need one for mac....
How do u find out who the publisher is and how do u find them? I know of atleast one instance where the publisher was not able to be found yet the song was released on a compilation with a note regarding being unable to find the publisher. Also There is definitely alot of bootleg sampling and remixing going on these days in the world of digital music.
I think some ppl are looking for reasons why the word electro got hi-jacked. In my opinion the term electroclash was the first time I started hearing the word electro outside the actual scene. Ppl then started referring to stuff like Felix the house cat as electro when it was really just Nu-disco or modeled after the 80's disco sound with a house twist. It just went out of control from there and now kids refer to stuff like crookers as electro which is just wrong.
Alot of this misrepresentation of the word electro is because of the term electroclash that was coined by Larry tee from NYC in the early 2000's. I remember thinking that was a ridiculous genre name at the time just like this whole electrohouse thing. To me electrohouse does not exist. That form of house that ppl call electro is actually fidget house also known as blog house because of it's rise in the blog/party scene a few years ago. It's sad how many ppl misuse the word electro these days. Years ago especially in the 90's hardly anyone used the word electro, those were the good ol' days I guess. Now most of us are forced to use the term electrofunk I guess.
Most on this forum have record collections so I was wondering how most of u get your records to wav or mp3 format. I am not very happy with the way I have been doing it over the years. I have been recording thru a dj mixer to a pioneer consumer level cd recorder. From there I have to then import the cd wav files into iTunes. I have a large amount of vinyl and want the best sounding fastest way to do this. I have thought about a USB turntable, are these any good or does it depend on the make and model?
Thanks guys for the ableton tips. I am using version 7 right now and It's about 200$ to upgrade to 8, I am guessing it's worth it? How has the audio rendering engine changed from 7 to 8? U mentioned 7 and below was inferior.
The long awaited album E.M.F. (Electro Music Forever) is a compilation of work influenced by the Miami Electrobass underground scene and has been dubbed the future generations project. The album contains bonecrushing beats, tweaky/melodic synths and creative concepts of dark industrial layers. E.M.F. is the dynamic difference between modern style and oldschool tradition.
Ok. Maybe this is an issue of rendering. Once again I come from the school of hardware mixers and recording to a dat tape. I did some experimenting with ableton where I took a song and put it in live then rendered it to see if there was any difference from the original file. To me I heard subtle differences, almost a tinny sheen was added to the track. Was this caused by the rendering options like dithering I used perhaps? Any advice on rendering settings for best results both pre and post mastering? I know pre master should be 24 bit and post 16 bit but other than that I am unsure about normalizing and dither.
What DAW has the best quality sound? I am new to software and wondered if there is any sonic benefits to one particular DAW or is the playing field pretty level? I was under the impression that protools and cubase were the best but I am not sure if I have been misled. I have also heard rumours that ableton does not sound as good as other DAWs. Note sure if this is true either. Is there actually one that sounds better or is it based on the expertise of the user, plugins ect? Cus with hardware mixers it's simple, certain mixers just sound better than others.
I see u got this from a wbmx mix? I am a big fan of some of the mixes done on that radio show back in the day by Mickey Oliver and others. Where did u find the mix? I have not heard that reality track in any of the mixes I have from that station.
