Fantastic album!!!!
Very pleased to have this in my collection!

Thanks guys, your feedback is really appreciated
Huge thanks to Evan / Binalog Productions for releasing my tracks and for the awesome artwork! It's been an absolute pleasure working with you again

I wrote all of my latest EP on my netbook with VST instruments then transferred the tracks to my studio for final mixdown / arrangement etc. I replaced most of the sounds with hardware but some VST stuff stayed. My favourite VST instrument of the moment is DCAM Synth Squad : Strobe

It sounds and behaves like a real synth.. it almost made me consider selling some of my VA hardware.. but I resisted because I like my studio to look like the control center of a space ship -
Electro with acoustic instruments is Acousto
I'm not into acoustic instruments whatsoever and don't listen to any non-synthetic music.
There's a reason why I love electro.. electronics and synthetics to the max!

if you've heard "deadmau5 - ghosts and stuff" it shows how that technique is done properly, but anyways...
sorry for going off the topic of electro though, time for some talk about the real techy, glitchy, distorted bass and stuff.
Yeah I've heard lots of Deadmau5....
I refer to my previous commentQuote from MikeAsh;50399I f*&%ing hate the pumping sidechain compression that seems to be all the rage in the 'electro' house scene.
I actually quite liked his stuff at first but then it really started to grate on me.. that sidechain pumping kind of gives me a headache.. especially when it's there without the kick.
I agree though... back to the robot phunk!

One bit of advice I would add is to give your ears a rest! I never try to master a track on the day i`ve made it, leave it until the next day or later and you will find that you pick up on things that you hadn`t noticed whilst producing the track.
I agree. I think the most important thing when mixing / mastering / composing / synthesising is your ears!
If it sounds right, it is right. There's too much focus on numbers nowadays kHz this bitrate that etc.
I pretty much just twist knobs and press buttons until it sounds right to me and don't get bothered by the specifics
I find that if I spend too long in the studio (spare bedroom) I start to become unsure on how good things sound, whether levels are right on certain things. This is when I know my ears have become tired and I give it a rest for at least a few hours if not until the next day.

Definitely on my 'to buy' list

Thanks for all the kind comments!
It's been great working with Binalog Productions and I'm really looking forward to the release on Friday.
Hopefully lots more tracks to come.. I'm only just getting started
Cheers,

Thanks for your kind words guys
Blofeld - I started going through some of the presets and thought, they're fairly nice but there's sooooo bloody many of them I got a bit bored. I fired up the Init Sound utility and got into programming from scratch.. as you have said it has pretty much endless synthesis capabilities and sounds great too
I haven't even touched the Licence SL samples or user wavetables yet.
MoPho - same thing, flicked through a few presets, loaded up the editor initialised a sound and started programming from scratch.. very nice sound and a wicked self oscillating filter. I wouldn't normally use a software editor as I think 'I may as well use a VSTi' but the MoPho definitely needs it and the filter sounds better than any VSTi I've used
I got them both for great prices - £450 for the Blofeld Keyboard (delivered) and £180 for the MoPho (delivered).. best of all I paid for them by selling off old stuff I never used
-
In the past few days I've bought:
A Blofeld Keyboard:
And a MoPho desktop:
I'm chuffed to bits with both of them.. I feel the need to tell someone 'cos my Mrs sure as hell ain't interested!!
-
My current setup:
Actually this has recently changed. I've sold the XR10 and a few other bits (not pictured) will hopefully be adding a Mopho keyboard soon
-
Thanks binalog, really glad you like it
I should hopefully have some more new material coming very soon
