Exactly one year after my 2022 release entitled 'Agitation Propaganda', I return with a collection of new tracks that were produced between the middle of 2022 and early 2023. This 20-track album, as the title suggests, is a tribute to the love affair that I have with making music. In 2023 I celebrate my 40th birthday so I thought it was good timing to release a concept album that pays homage to the one true love that I've ever known- Synthesis ♥️
This album, as with the last, relies heavily on the sounds of classic synthesizers/drum machines like Mono/Poly, MS-20, SH-101, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-2, JX-8P, System 100, Juno 60, JX-3P, TB-303, Polysix, TR-606, OB-8, TR-808, ARP Odyssey, as well as some contemporary additions to my studio like Hydrasynth, System 8, MC-707, MicroFreak, Prophet Rev2, Novation Peak, Minilogue, SE-02, and Microkorg.
The artwork for the album was done by the brilliant artist Kelly Gilleran, who also just so happens to be my long-term girlfriend. She is a pattern designer, painter, and illustrator. Her work can be found here: www.kellygilleran.redbubble.com/
A majority of the songs on this album were recorded in only one take in my home studio and recorded to high-quality video as well. The same recordings heard on this album can be seen performed live on YouTube. www.youtube.com/@JohanSebastianBot/videos

For this episode of @DarkScienceElectro we check in with friend-of-the-show Rob Witschakowski, better known as @The-Exaltics
Starting in 2006 with the founding of the project by Nico Jagiella and Rob, The Exaltics have been a driving force in the popularization of the beloved genre we call Electro. The following year in 2007, after the inception of The Exaltics project, the duo created the label @Solar_One_Music - The imprint has released music from many amazing producers such as MSRG, Heinrich Mueller, Gesloten Cirkel, Obergman, Franck Kartell, Nullptr, Das Muster, ERP, Ekman, Gosub, and many more. In addition, there are a few sub-labels that are utilized as well, such as Between Places, Rattleznake, Unhöerbar. Hailing from the city of Jena in Germany, Rob has shared the stage with too many to mention and continued releasing quality music as @The-Exaltics having just released a retrospective album in 2022. The album covers his entire discography and is highly recommended by @DVSNME - Rob has been DJing for over 20 years and you can definitely hear that in his exclusive mix for @DarkScienceElectro - Buckle up and get ready for a deep, cinematic ride.

This week on @DarkScienceElectro we take a listen to a mix from another newcomer to Electro.
@lordjalapenos is the monicker of French musician/DJ. He produces abstract Electro music and has done so for roughly a year. I was approached by him around the time he started publishing music to Soundcloud and was very impressed. So much so that I asked him to be a guest on @DarkScienceElectro - He is influenced by everyone from Dopplereffekt and Ivna Ji to other genres like Black Metal. You can check out the playlist below.

This week's guest DJ on @DarkScienceElectro we take a listen to a non-stop Electro set by Croatian DJ @Avatar_J
Josip Katic aka ΛVΛTΛR J is a DJ/Producer currently residing in Rotterdam. As with many of us in the Electro community, at a young age, he was fascinated with breakdance and Hip Hop culture. During his adolescent years he shifted his interest to House and Techno. Now 15 years after the start of his initial love for Hip Hop, he is back to his roots playing Breakbeat and Electro. He spends time as an organizer of local events and producing new Electro material for future live performances.

Their first single was released in 2014 and included in a great compilation of their own label Gladio Operations, along with renowned artists such as Boris Divider, ERP, and Luke Eargoggle, among others.

2022 has unarguably been a great year for Electro both with overall visibility for the genre as well as with the sheer number of quality releases being put out over the course of the year. This was also a year in which I took a break from my show and handed DJing responsibilities over to DJ friends from around the world. Couldn't be happier with how the year turned out for the show. I feel like It was a busy year both production-wise and promotion-wise for @DVSNME and @DarkScienceElectro respectively, however, I found some time to put together a mix of my favorite 22 tracks from 2022. Thanks to all the artists and DJs for the promos that made this mix possible. (@dvsnme December 16th, 2022)
