Hey Astro Kid,
great job! Lots of good mood, humor, easiness. Not many can do that.

Hyboid - Madhouse in Space (mini album) will it get a release on wax ?
Yes, definitely. On blue vinyl. If all goes well, I will release it by the end of this year. I will post a preview in this forum, of course
The tracks have now been mastered. The sample links now point to the mastered versions.
There is also a new preorder link on my website in case you are interested in receiving a mail when the first release is available
That is cool news! I have noticed that unfortunately many releases don't get pressed on vinyl anymore. This is a worrying tendency. Happy to see that you still believe in the power of plastics :))
This sounds awesome! Recently got their 2 Bunker 12"s, now this one sounds excellent as well! Great job...
I am proud to announce my new label Astro Chicken. Instead of describing our music in words, I invite you to visite our website and try the samples for our first 3 releases:
The first release will be a 12" compilation called "Chicken Accelerator" on yellow vinyl featuring 4 artists from Germany scheduled for release this summer. There will also be an MP3 version.
Friends of spaced-out Electro and Disco can look forward to lots more great stuff we have in store for later releases.
my first vinyl appearence in years: Welovetoemerge - Junction.
Welovetoemerge is a Berlin-based Netlabel that has made the jump to a physical release: a compilation of 6 tracks by 6 artists. Stylistically, we have some electro, some techno and some minimal for you.
Preview clips (ripped from the actual vinyl):
> A - Side - Playtime - 18'46
> B - Side - Playtime - 21'21
The record is available in the shop section of our homepage for 10€ plus shipping: http://welovetoemerge.de/v2/site/shop.html
as well as in these recordshops in the cities of Berlin and Hamburg:
Stay tuned for another Hyboid release this year on a different label. Electro is back!!!!!!
Thank you so much for hinting me at this great musician!
Legowelt - Klaus Kinski EP
Dune - Hardcore Vibes
MAS 2008 - Pretty in Plastique
Scape One - The complete Gamma Function
Warp 10+3 Remixes
Drexciya - The unknown Aqua Zone
I use Genelec 1029 with subwoofers (Genelec 7050). They have never let me down. They sound nice and still you don't get any nasty surprises if you listen to your mixes on other systems.
Alesis Monitor I Active are also very nice and are really affordable.
It usually takes me a 4-6 days to complete a track that I feel is worth working on. When it takes too long for a track to give me "the kick" I scrap it and start on something new. This way I avoid having too many unfinished tracks around and rather concentrate on those that have "hit potential"
Working on a track for more than 8 hours a day is no good and makes me too dizzy to make any healthy judgement about my music.
The bass frequencies in an 808 kick are actually quite tidy and not at all muddy (it is just a sine wave). If your mix is muddy, it is because kick and bassline don't go well together. Try to avoid long 808 kick decays, they really tend to make a mix muddy. If you do long kick decays, the bass line has to be rather "clicky", i.e. with short decays and not too low in frequency.
With a short kick decay, on the other hand, you still have enough space in the lows to place a juicy, low frequency bassline.
try some ADULT, for example this:
Or maybe MAS 2008, it's not really distorted vocals, but give it listen anyway:
