80's had the best Electro?

If you mean the Electrofunk/Rap/Hiphop related "Electro" ...i agree, it was for sure at its peak in the 80s.
Although, if you dig deep enough, you'll find some great gems of this style in all times.

For the kraftwerk/electronica type of new school "Electro" i think the 90s were the best time.

the 80's had the best electro funk and electro rap stuff, no doubt.
New School electro had the best time from the mid to late 90's imo.

but today there pretty cool releases too, but also some tunes which are sounding pretty commercial.

I agree with doctorcrack. 80's all the way !!! No doubt. Nothing can match it after 1988. Case in point:

The production Larry Smith did on Whodini's Escape album- CLASSIC !!!!
The production Jam on productions did on Newcleus Jam on Revenge album- CLASSIC !!!
The library of 12"inch singles Micheal Sterling put out- Un matched !!!

Egyptian lover,Amos Larkin, Pretty Tony, nobody can touch these classics.. I try to make electro in the old school style these days. But nothing like a fresh 12"inch from 84' to do the trick

my opinion only of course. But the 90's had some pretty cool stuff too. Bokkie would be the top collector for that stuff as well. Peace

My own taste also prefers the 80's! But there are some records from the early 90's that are incredible IMO...some of them I listed above. These are the tunes to keep an eye on too! Cause in the 90's they def. made some great tracks!

I personally like Electro from all the decades 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's(so far) because each decade has it's own distinct sound and great qualities about it.
