1983-1988 the REAL golden age of Hip Hop.

In my opinion of course.

1983 - 1987

79' - 97' straight up awesome all the way through with 88' being THE year.

83 till 86 were the best IMO...

80's all the way. Although there have been some good stuff put out in other decades that is top notch but nothing defines "electro" like the 80's for me.

have to go with the years 1983 to 1986

I LOVE Electro from all the decades. 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's & I'm sure I'll LOVE Electro from the soon 10's decade.

Its gotta be 83-88 for me

Becuase the vocoder was rulin' !

84/85

1983 - 1986 ! Vocoder bombs/cool synths and good beats ! after that.. 87 came and electro was more BASS MUSIC with not so many good beats and songs.. to me at least... the last good "electro" record in 87 was HC Smooth LETS rock non stop and even that wasnt as good as some of the jamz from 84-85 ..

I would tend to agree with you on that.

82,83,84 definitely, 85 is a completely different sound, and 86,87 is not even in the same category as "old school".

1984-1985 - Electro Rap Era

1983-1986, maybe into '87.

1988 things went very drum break samples, and then the gangsta-bitches started coming out!!!

after that the 2000's most definately. things have seemed to die down tho
