First Electro tracks from Miami

  • Difficult...
Miami is immediately associated with Miami Bass...I'd say DXJ put it on the map (in my opinion) with OSÉ and Maggotron. (1983/1984) But before that there was already Electro offcourse...

So it depends on what you like, and what you perceive as electro.

Check out the Pandisc label and the Bound Sound label, you will find alot of the important Miami stuff!

  • Ok I agree, Miami is mostly associated with Miami bass.

Probably even before that, you had Pretty Tony and Freestyle.

And I recently found out that there's this guy from Miami Lawrence Dermer, he's not only the guy behind Der Mer, but he also was one of the Extra T's.
So I guess Miami's first electro tracks would be: Der Mer - Fall Out ... and Extra T's - E.T. Boogie.

  • Electro tracks from Miami..... Well if were talking Miami Bass... 1984 2 Live Crew - The Revelation (Even though it was recorded in Cali). 1985 MC A.D.E. - Bass Rock Express.
If were talking the whole "Freestyle Scene" the above posted entries are all great examples.
Just a side note...... The Jam Pony Express has been making and selling Mix Tapes since 1981! My earliest personal Mix Tape from them that I own is 1986.

  • This guy had alot to do with it...
