in this song that doesn't appear to be the case yet he got the same effect.... sort of.

you can tell when the kick drums go silent and the effect is still there.

if you've heard "deadmau5 - ghosts and stuff" it shows how that technique is done properly, but anyways...

I actually quite liked his stuff at first but then it really started to grate on me.. that sidechain pumping kind of gives me a headache.. especially when it's there without the kick.

meh, he's good at using side chain compression. probably the reason why he uses it in just about every track.

as far as making good music, that's a matter of opinion. there's only one song of his i really like and it's not the one i mentioned, but to each, his own i guess.
