Since the first Battle Of The Year (BOTY) has taken place in 1990, the annual breathtaking competition of international dance formations has become one of the worlds biggest championship of breakdance. In 2010, more than 400 crews with more than 3.000 dancers took part in 26 official elimination contests worldwide to qualify for the final battle in front of 12.000 fans in Montpellier, France. To deliver the diversity of the competition, the BOTY soundtrack includes various artists and styles: from classical Funk with live instruments, Old School Breakbeats to Electro and modern House / Disco grooves.
Highlights of this years album include the opener "B-Boy Touch" by norwegan producer ESONE, a new song out of the Zughafen Studios by DJ NAS'D, contributions from Poland by DJ PABLO and DJ.M@R (who are both also releasing a full longplayer on Dominance) and a new 25th Anniversary remix of the 80s No.1 hit "19" by british Electrofunk and Jazz master PAUL HARDCASTLE. A surprise for all Old School Electro fans is the return of the german KNIGHTZ OF BASS with the brandnew song "Landed". Furthermore this Soundtrack includes exclusive songs by the Dominance residents DAGOBERT and JAY-ROC N' JAKEBEATZ, Russia's BEAT CRUSH CREW, DJ TEE from Japan, VIM CORTEZ from France, MR. CONFUSE and many more!
