Yo Mathias, I always thought that your "Anti-Gravity Machines Re-Mix" had a bit of a dub-step style to it.. Obviously without the exaggerated dub-step bass tho.. Still, a favorite of mine..
hey felix, glad you like it
i always thought of it as 'deep space electro ragga'
but there might be some similarities in the tempo/beat structure to dubstep.

yes I been listening to what was originally referred to as South London Dubstep since early 2006 and let me say it is become so dope that it blows away most other electronic (hate to use the word but will anyway Dance) music right now in terms of freshness and originality and forward thinking progressiveness. Not stuck in the past at all and now these producers are incorporating more electro/techno influences rather than the strict dubby sub bass templates it started out with (which was alos dope I might add. I feckin Love it love it
Check ital Tek, check Skream, check Burial all dope imo.......
Must have tunes
skream - midnight request line (zinc mix)
skream - skream album
burial (both albums) not strictly dubstep more uk funky/future garage but incredible still
benga - e trips/night
digital mystiks - haunted/anti war dub
kode 9 & spaceape - album memories of the future
kode 9 - 9 samurai - my all time fave dubstep tune
Burial - Unite
Skream - all skreamizm e.ps
LV & Dandelion - takeover
and much more
thanks! will check those out

Quote from drschmidt;50874Couldn't agree more. Elektro will have to broaden its horizon, or it will be stuck in the 80s and consequently irrelevant for today.
it's long time ago stucked into 80's ...

A good example of a dubstep artist experimenting with other styles, in this case electro.
this one is dedicated to the people of Japan.................

@ Matt
chek out an artist called Zomby from Bristol - some great electro-ish material also a brother called Silkie who's album is called City Limits and which is sick - full of 80's style synth work over dubstep beats
bublin kris!!!
another one from Krystal....................

I feel that some dubstep shares a robotic feel to it like electro...so Im in

I like how some of the 'new style' dancing today is to dubstep.

(Ppl should be dancing more as a form of creative and constructive protest rather than looting and rioting, although I think there is a larger problem at hand than just kids running the streets)

it's all about Zomby for me these days - defo the don dada as well as Rusko and Boxcutter
the crown has been passed from Skream/Burial and Loefah to these three imo

Been loving Bodikkas stuff lately...The Instamental album is great too. Jon Convex the other half of Instramental just put out a wicked 12" also..
There's some great stuff coming out on the Swamp 81 label Mattias..also check our Starkeys album - Ephemeral Exhibits and Vex'd - Degenerate album(few years old now but much better than alot of the stuff coming out today).
