The Drum & Bass Thread

  • I get a DnB craving here & there it never lasts that long though so the amount of records or artists i know is very small. so instead of artists I'll recomend a couple of my fav records I got.

    Chris.Su & State Of Mind (8) / Tactile (2) - Deeper / Hangover (Advance//d Recordings)

Surge (5) - Rotation / Double Dragon (Chronic)

DJ SS - S Files (Case File 1) (Formation Records)
Stress Related tune is super dope. The b side is kinda wack imo but still worth the record for that one track.

Paradox - The Ultimate Negative / Breakdown (Outsider)

    amex/Kaiza* / Budoka - Sourcream / Whiplash Rmx (Tilt-Recordings)

Universal Project - Nu Born / Outrun (Aspect & Gremlinz Remix) (Universal Project)

Grand Masterz - Shadow Technique / Decent Exposure (Vampire Records)

heres a dubstep one i like that Tech itch - Know track is pretty ill.

Tech Itch* / Headhunter (9) - Know / Arrival (Ascension)

  • My current favourite d&b is an album by Raiden called 'Beton Arme'. It's fantastic:

  • I've just got into D&B myself. Most of it is designed for the dance floor, but there is a sub-genre known as Intelligent Drum & Bass which is much more sound musically. I love the music of Seba and Zomby. Real drum and bass with substance.

mm..what does it mean decent drumnbass? it does nu skool? ???
    ;D

haha...I'm new to D&B, and up until about 2 months ago my only experience of the genre was through a customer of mine. He's a very young pill-popping idiot if I may say so, and his music is just "bang bang bang" with absolutely no texture or substance to it whatsoever. Desgined for phukheads on the dancefloor. However, I was round my brothers 8 weeks ago, and he was playing a very different kind of drum and bass that had real substance to it and when I asked what it was he said 'Intelligent Drum & Bass' - he told me it was LTJ Bukem! I then found out he was from my area which made me more interested! so I bought some of his stuff. I was then at a wedding where I got talking to a guy on my table who was an intellectual type and a fan of drum & bass. He recommended me Seba and Zomby - 2 great artist IMO.

  • yes i know thats atmosferic ambient sub-genre, the most of it was released in the middle 90s , also check out labels as Good looking records , Basement records , Creative wax , and somenthing around this thread. enjoy ;)

Yeah, Bukem is on Good Looking Recordings, In fact if I'm not mistaken it's actually his label!

Omni Trio is another great intelligent d&b atrist(s).

    Cheers!

    I prefer forward-thinking dubstep, mind.

  • Inner City Life... still a goosebumb classic for me.

    Nice remix:
