looks like a pitch bend based on the 17 second mark where he's pitching down. sounds like he might have the portamento on. notes seem to glide.

Sounds like he has got portamento on, pitch bending and modulation. Wicked bass sounds over old skool drum sounds. Great little vid that.

yeah there's one track off his album that's even more wicked - 10 minutes of spaced-out synth improvisations with exactly those kind of bass sounds. it's called "brookside park", not on youtube unfortunately.
the reason i'm asking is, i'm thinking about getting a multi-purpose vintage synth ... not only for pads & leads but i'd like to get some fat bass sounds out of it too. my initial idea was juno 60 or polysix, but they both don't have any portamento.
