any thoughts on it,soundwise ,reliability wise and filter wise?

Yeah its a great hardware sampler...i used to play one at my friends house and it sounds fantastic due to its analog filters. You should go for the maxed out EIII with 16 outputs and 8 meg ram. And lets not forget how cool it looks...i think the EII and EIII is the best looking samplers in the world

just realised the one i was looking at is a eIII xs rack, the xs has digital filters,
which kind of spoils it a bit ...
