Pure synth snobbery. This is exactly the wrong attitude to have, certainly not the attitude of a good musician. I know people who produce with minimal modern gear and make some great tracks, I also know people with all the classic gear and don't have a clue how to use it. You need to decide whether you are a musician or a museum.
Some of my new gear sounds WAY better than my old synths. I have old Junos and Crumar synths in the cupboard, because I get better use from some of the modern gear. I also build my own gear because of my love for electronics and music, but the big modular synth isn't even complete, so in your eyes it's shit because it's new???
